In November I finished uni after 5 years with a Masters in Osteopathy, which now makes me Dr. Julie, Osteopath. Finishing studying is a pretty huge thing, but amazing and I look forward to starting working life. One thing I haven't had much of in the last 5 years is rest - I've become a very busy person, and therein lies my main desire to move to Perth - to chill out.
Perth is a really slow, laid back city, so I think it is a good place to start my career. Leaving home means leaving behind lots of distractions (although i love you all) which will give me time to reflect on work and learn as much as a can, but relax on my days off. Who knows if peace will be achieved, but I'll try to make it happen! The sun and ocean are also a big draw, as well as the beaufitul town of Fremantle - chilled out but fun with plenty of things to do.
Another massive thing for me is the chance to see some of the most stunning parts of this awesome country. Nearly half of Australia is in WA! So i want to explore it and breathe the aussie air :) SO welcome again to my journey from Bacchus Marsh to Fremantle and a few things about my life after that. I will try to not to get emotional here and instead just report on the happenings of my life. If you are become a reader of this blog, I'd appreciate a comment or two just to know whos watching :)
The title of this blog is Djapana which is an Australian Aboriginal word meaning "sunset dreaming". I think this is appropirate for my sea change to the west coast where the sun sets over the Indian Ocean. And seeing as i get to traverse some 4000km of this awesome country on my way there, i thought an indigenous title was apt.
This is me just before graduation, having high tea at the Langham hotel, overlooking the Yarra
Sounds like you are having a good time. Pics look good.
