Day 11: Nick Berry eat your heart out

Stayed at Felice's hood in Whitney (just out of Oxford) after our deciding dining experience.

Then hit up Oxford for some breakfast and a look see...

This is where Radiohead came to fame!

Felice's old work...

Cottesloe?

Then hit the real road for North Yorkshire...

Om my god!

Found some cool old fire damaged church and graveyard.... Over looking a power station?!

Then we hit the Moors and like clockwork the mist came in :)
Decided to see what the signs to 'flamingo land' meant... Thought it might be a random animal sanctuary.. Cos we were really in the middle of know where... Not particularly populated, but alas! It's a massively huge hidden theme park??!! Like seriously big! We couldn't stop giggling at what a find this was!! We were too late for admission but wangled entrance into the gift store. Don't know why, to buy a souvenir... it was such a fun find.

But like he'll you'd get on that thing??

Outrun that cow train Felice!

I did buy a souvenir....

Back on the road, stuck behind this thing for a loooomg time

Which gave me time to take pictures of cute houses!

Moo

And then our arrival at the most amazing, magnificent of old hotels. Best find ever! Well done Felice. The Raven Hall hotel, built sometime in the 18th century, and somewhere of mix between the hotel in the shining, toad hall from wind in the willows and something Jane Austen. We felt giddy with exploration excitement! It was overlooking Robin Hoods bay and hosted a golf course, mini golf, crochet field and lawn bowls. There was what looked like the remained of some wedding folk there, but other than that minimum age would have been 70 y/o... Which meant we could tell what dinner would be like... Seemed 5 star in appearance but a bit of a classic when the food arrived... It wasn't bad at all, just a bit.... Lacking! (mind you, clearly I've become a high expectation food snob over this trip on top of the normal hard to please, as I'm sure you've all observed...) And on the side of every single dish, was a side bowl of steamed veggies. Including beside my main which only consisted of veggies anyway?! Hahaha. Can totally see that it's the getaway spot for older Yorkshire folk and good on them. But it did make us laugh. As for then venue though... Big wow! Someone should totally have a wedding there for us to go to.....
