So confused I went on deck like everyone else and enjoyed the view, still in a state of private disbelief. It's was funny too, cos on international waters, so there was duty free shop and you weren't allowed to get off. Naturally! You're out at sea!! Weird.
But fun. Anyway, then back on board, change of scenery now in Germany. Layover at Hamburg for lunch then onto a different train to Berlin. I'm already loving Germany. It is so damn green and pretty like I imagined. And coming into both of those main cities, it was green little villages the whole way. I didn't even realise we were in a city, it was that flat and green and not surrounded by km's of urban sprawl like at home. Yay.
A quick dash on the S-Bahn and then a tram (yep) to my next place of residence. Check it out!
Just up the road for some Asian for dinner... Wasn't feeling the fried local cuisine, so opted for (have a guess) crispy skin duck. Nice to have rice.
Time for a poke around. And guess what? Indulgent dessert stroll blissful moment #4 for the trip. Honestly, there's just something about it, reckless abandon when ice cream, chocolate and trees are involved. This time only a magnum though! The streets around were full of little restaurants and parks, but strangely enough (or not strangely at all cos it is late on a Sunday) even though there were plenty of people, It was really quiet. No loud voices or traffic, really gentle :)
And then I found a rock'n'roll bar. With a Ramones cover band on for the night.
Brilliant!!

I think we may have to follow in your footsteps.
ReplyDeleteYou'd better make a list of the places you stayed for us.
