Michy and I heading off for France this morning, to check out an old town we were recommended by our hosts, but little to ours (or their knowing - they were appalled when they heard) it was really really really busy and full of not only tourists but shitty modern market stalls selling bags, plastic things etc. bit of a let down, but still a nice plae when you saw it from the right angles...
Left there and back over the border for some German tucker after drive touring a few more towns. Nice shady cafe in a scorching day...
To a lake for a swim!! With a surprising number of naked people of all shapes and sizes.... Many withy their children in toe! Didn't wanna look like a creep photoing the swimming place, so here's some less scenic shots of the lake! It really was lovely to have a swim though - it was quite barren but there were some willows in the distance that we swan over to and under. Funny how no matte dhow safe you know it is, I still had an innate awareness that there could be sharks beneath my feet! Also a funny reminder that I have been so fortunate to always be in the ocean (or chlorinated pools), that I forgot how much less bouyant fresh water is! Hard work! ;)
And tonight for dinner, a short drive to a great place in a residential street. Only locals would know about it, and being a Saturday night there were lots of families (there was even a great playground). It looked more like a home with some tables and benches out the back, but its actually a restaurant where by the chef cooks ONLY the food which he makes by hand and most produce which he grows. Fantastic that this is so popular! So the menu is still the standard, but he makes all of his own meats and breads etc etc. awesome :)
