We left Adelaide for
Garden Island – just north of Port Adelaide, within the industrial area. A beautiful island in the most unsuspecting place! Here we had a picnic and lazed around before kitting up for a kayak (with the aide of one very cute kayak company dude) on the backwaters.

Hayley and I spent nearly 3 hours on the water, winding around bends, checking out shipwrecks (apparently there is over 30 wrecks in the section we checked out – but we only saw 6) and afterwards some gorgeous mangroves – we had to duck a few times!
Following this tiring yet great morning, we hit the road again (I’m gonna be saying that a lot) for
Pt Augusta - 300km away, with a short stop in
Port Pirie on the way. Pt Augusta wasn’t anything too special – but our ‘backpacker bunker’ at the caravan park was airconditioned so we were content.

Pink Lake!!
